SEMBLANZA PROYECTO ESTUSHA VAKNA KOBAL
Vakna Kobal
Uno de los objetivos principales del proyecto VAKNA KOBAL es conservar los sonidos musicales y las danzas de los diferentes pueblos-culturas del mundo, y sobre todo de las culturas de Mesoamérica creando una fusión con sonidos contemporáneos, para lograr así que estas músicas y danzas ancestrales puedan ser accesibles a cualquier persona moderna. La música y la danza de los pueblos étnicos de las diferentes culturas del mundo fue y es usada para acompañar celebraciones y eventos como: cosechas, siembras, llegada de las diferentes estaciones, las lluvias, ceremonias de bodas, veneraciones al sol, la luna ,la Tierra etc.. Es así como a través de la música y la danza ayudaban a poner énfasis en sucesos tan importantes como el agua, la tierra, el fuego; logrando así un conocimiento de su medio ambiente, acompañado de arte.
Para VAKNA KOBAL es de suma importancia conservar las músicas y las danzas que nos recuerdan y nos inspiran a apreciar y cuidar de nuestro entorno natural, y así por medio del arte con sonidos novedosos como la forma de cantar de Estusha Grinberg con toda la influencia de las culturas de América , sonidos de instrumentos contemporáneos como Chapman stik, sintetizadores, bajo eléctrico, guitarra midi etc... y las influencias de diferentes culturas del mundo, llegar a los oídos de todo tipo de personas.
El grupo Vakna Kobal se ha dedicado a investigar algunos aspectos de la música proveniente de varias culturas. Pero mas que nada la influencia que une todos estos sonidos es la de las culturas Mesoamericanas, ya que Estusha Grinberg se ha dedicado a introducirse en las músicas de las culturas Mesoamericánas por muchos años,y asi canta estas músicas de diferentes tradiciones y dándoles naturalmente el sentimiento que viene de esta parte del mundo América. A partir de estos estudios han hecho fusiones de instrumentos y cantos ,el resultado ha sido una mezcla creativa , rica en elementos diversos y con un sentimiento unificador que les ha permitido crear una música nueva que pretende acercar a todo tipo de personas a través de sonidos musicales ancestrales reconocibles en novedosos composiciones.
El grupo ha editado un CD producido por la distribuidora de Putumayo cuyo título es Elementos Ancestrales . El grupo se ha presentado en varios festivales y foros culturales como en la Cumbre Tajín, el Festival de la Tierra, el Consejo de Visiones, etc. La fundadora de este grupo Estusha Grinberg ha sido a su vez fundadora del grupo “Cielo y Tierra” junto con el músico Pedro Vadar.Produjo un CD y dos video-clips con la compañía disquera Warner Bros. (WEA).
Se ha presentado también en varios foros culturales como el Auditorio Nacional, en el Festival Cumbre Tajín, Teatro Virginia Fábregas y festivales apoyando la educación ambiental así como en programas de televisión, periódicos y revistas. Ha participado con varios grupos y artistas como Tania Libertad, Café Tacuba, Maná, etc. También colaboró en el homenaje que se organizó a Rigoberta Menchú ( Premio Nóbel de la Paz) el cual ella misma presenció en el año de 1997 en la Ciudad de Tijuana, BC. Jon Anderson vocalista del grupo YES, colaboró en dos piezas del proyecto Cielo y Tierra. Estusha Grinberg, participó en el proyecto de Claudia Martínez “Tonana”.
Estusha Grinberg esta produciendo su tercer disco , en el cual se encuentra la relación de la música de México con las músicas del mundo llamado LA MUSICA DEL MUNDO EN MEXICO.

For VAKNA KOBAL it is of extreme importance of conserving musics and the dances that remember us and inspire us to appreciate our roots, to take care of our natural surrounds, and to give account us that in music does not exist border. To mix these musics and dances of different traditions , with contemporary sounds , and a profound feeling of the Mesoamerican culture developed in the singing of Estusha lead singer and director, who has been introduced in the musics of the American cultures for many years;,allows us to arrive at all type of people, thus to manage to give to know the wealth that exists in each culture.

They have made studies of diferent musics to be able to combine properly all the elements they have; and Estusha's voice like a link for all these sounds: musics, chants and instruments, with contemporary instruments such as electric bass, Chapman stick, sinthezisers etc...These combinations have allowed them to create a new music that tries to approach the different traditions through ancestral musical sounds reconocibles in novel compositions.
The group has published a CD produced by the distributor of Putumayo whose title is Ancestral elements . The group has appeared in several festivals and cultural forums like in the festival Cumbre Tajín , the Earth Festival, the Council of Visions, the fotofest in Mexico etc. The founder of this group Estusha Grinberg A. has been founder also of the group “Sky and Earth” along with the musician Pedro Vadhar. This proyect (sky and earth) has produced a CD and two video-clips with the company Warner Bros. (WEA) .
They have also presented their work in several cultural forums like the National Auditorium of Mexico city , in the Festival Cumbre Tajín, Theater Virginia Fábregas and festivals supporting the environmental education as well as in programs of television, newspapers and magazines. It has participated with several groups and artists like Tania Libertad, Café Tacuva, Mana, Tonana etc. Estusha Grinberg collaborated in the tribute organized for Rigoberta Menchú (Nobel prize of Peace) which she herself was present at in the year of 1997 in City of Tijuana, BC.
